South Africa’s COVID restrictions have been adjusted.
The Presidency announced the relaxation of certain rules on December 30, just in time for New Year celebrations.
The curfew has been lifted, thus there are no restrictions on the hours in which people may move about.
Gatherings are now restricted to 1 000 people indoors, and 2 000 outdoors and establishments selling alcohol that have licences to operate beyond 23h00 may now enjoy full licence conditions.
The SA Government has urged South Africans and visitors to continue to observe the protocols of mask wearing, hand hygiene and social distancing.
