The Cape Grace Hotel’s Bascule has reopened after undergoing a refurbishment.
Cape Grace Sales & Marketing Director, Philma Gomes, said, true to its name the newly refurbished Bascule bar (from the French word for ‘balance’) epitomises a perfect symmetry of relaxed sophistication.
The bar is named after the Bascule Bridge at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront – the only one of its kind in South Africa. “With only about 140 bascule bridges throughout the world, it is fitting to celebrate the uniqueness of the design in Bascule bar, our very own masterpiece, which we believe offers guests a perfect balance of relaxed ambience and world-class sophistication,” said Gomes.
The bar stocks a collection of more than 500 whiskies from nearly every producing region, including Scotland, Ireland, USA and Canada. An almost equally impressive selection of the Cape’s finest wines is also on offer at Bascule Vinothèque.
