Tourism Update readers believe that South Africa’s tourism recovery is not happening fast enough, despite promising increases in the number of tourists arriving in 2022. In our latest poll, 61% of respondents were not enamoured by the pace of the recovery; 26% said recovery was progressing at exactly the pace they expected; and 13% said recovery was happening faster than expected.
How will LATAM’s return boost the South American market?
If all goes to plan, the South American market will again be serviced by a direct flight from July next year, with LATAM Airlines announcing the resumption of thrice-weekly flights between São Paulo and Johannesburg.
