Specialist African inbound operator, GoVacation Africa, has launched a new bespoke offering for golfing enthusiasts – from seasoned pros to those just starting out.
CEO of GoVacation Africa, Sabine Blehle, says GOLF@GoVacation Africa provides travellers with curated experiences on an FIT, self-drive and group basis, emphasising the best golf courses on offer, complemented by culinary delights and top tourism highlights in southern Africa.

Q: What drove the decision to create a curated golfing experience?
A: “We have seen a trend to more niche products in our industry due to changed consumer preferences seeking more unique and personalised experiences. We had great successes with our SCUBA@ and BLACK@ niche products and realised that there is a need for specialised and tailored golf experiences.”
Q: Will the experiences/packages be offered throughout the southern and East African region?
A: “Our services within GOLF@ will predominantly be offered within Southern Africa due to the numerous world-class golf courses available with their stunning landscapes, excellent weather conditions and food/wine experience. Neighbouring countries such as Zimbabwe and Zambia offer scenic golf courses within natural beauty and wildlife.”
Q: Could you expand on some of the curated experiences offered?
A: “Our curated experiences combine the best of what our beautiful countries have on offer: the best golf courses, beautiful and vast landscapes, nearby exciting cities, dining at gourmet restaurants to wine tasting at a renowned wine estate and, of course, a beautiful coastline, heritage sites and national parks.
Q: And at which golf courses (or is the destination decision left to the client)?
A: “Whilst we offer some curated packages, the product will be highly tailor-made to the client’s needs.”
Q: Which source markets are particularly interested in golf packages?
A: “Our source markets are mainly European. The favourable weather conditions, same time zone and easy accessibility make Southern Africa the perfect destination for golf enthusiasts.”
