The hotel’s exterior received an overhaul with all 67 rooms new aluminium sliding doors, balconies and verandas. The self-catering rondavels and five-star self-catering lodge were also upgraded.

The main building has been given a steel modular add-on, with timber cladding on the walls and flooring, the sub-tropical grounds were thinned out and the parking area was increased to accommodate another 40 vehicles.

The pool area was updated with new paving, and plans have been put in place to create pathways through the thicker bush to allow walks and bird watching.
