The Gorongosa Collection will construct the first tented camp, Muzimu Tented Camp, in the Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique, in March, with an expected opening date of late this year.
The camp aims to provide an intimate setting and will have six tents overlooking the Mussicadzi River. Guests will be guided on safari by vehicle, boat and on foot.
Following years of civil conflict, the national park was almost completely destroyed. In 2008, The Carr Foundation and the Mozambique government created The Gorongosa Restoration Project and wildlife has now been reintroduced into the park, now reaching more than 70 000 animals.
