The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) has opened a service to provide hikers with a safe descent from its top station.
Since the reopening of national parks there has been an influx of hikers to Table Mountain National Park. Hikers on the mountain can use the service on weekends between 08h00 and 15h00. “Tickets will only be available for purchase online or in the WiFi lounge at the top station,” said TMACC MD, Wahida Parker.
“In accordance with our strict COVID-19 health and safety protocols, we are only allowing a maximum of 26 people plus the cabin master per ride in the cable car. No one will be permitted to enter the cable car without a mask. To ensure the safety of hikers and our team, we will also sanitise the cable car after every ride.”
Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management, James Vos, recently visited the cableway and welcomed the new service. He said Table Mountain and the cableway attracted thousands of visitors each year.
