Gaborone’s newly renovated convention centre on the Phakalane Golf Estate is a “proactive response” to the Botswana government’s vision to expand the country’s MICE industry.

This is according to Botswana Vice President, Slumber Tsogwane, speaking at this week’s opening of the new convention centre.

The new centre has increased its capacity from 350 delegates to 1 500.

According to Tsogwane, improving capacity and capability in the MICE industry would foster a conducive environment for trade and investment opportunities both regionally and internationally.
