We are currently one of the largest Adventure Tour Companies in Africa and are recruiting at our Somerset West Offices. We are seeking a dynamic SENIOR BOOKEEPER with experience to join our young vibrant accounts team. This position is high stress, pressure and deadline driven. In order to qualify for this position the ideal candidate will possess the following attributes and be fluent and professional in their daily conduct. Duties will include (but not limited) to: • Full accounting function to Trial Balance. • Reconciles accounts/bank transactions to ensure the accuracy and escalate reconciliation Issues / outstanding transactions. • General Ledger journals, reconciliations and month end close procedures. • Ensure that financial administration delivery processes comply with internal control policies and report any anomalies to the Financial or General Manager. • Ensure that the relevant financial transactions are accurate and information is documented and stored appropriately. • Liaising with SARS, reporting and monthly returns submissions. • Process or accrue expenses accurately on the financial system, within the allocated month. • Report relevant and accurate financial information timely to direct superior / general manager / managing director. • Liaising with other departments to obtain financial information as well as dealing with their queries and requests. • Deliver services that create a culture which aims to exceed customers' expectations in all aspects of the business. • Deliver work activities effectively to satisfy customers.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this position you will require the following qualifications: • Higher certificates and /or Advanced National Certificates with NQF Level 5 or general Business Bookkeeping. • 3 – 4 years financial accounting experience. Applicants with experience in the in the Tourism Industry in SA will get preference. • Pastel Accounting experience a must. • Intermediate Excel Skills a definite must. • Tourplan experience hugely beneficial. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes and skills: • Customer focused and orientated. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. • Must be a Team Player. • Be attentive to details and highly professional. • Exceptional organisational skills and be organised. • Self disciplined individual. • Strong administrative skills. • Ability to multi task and use own initiative. • Patience and empathy.
