The Seychelles has launched a publicity campaign in Switzerland with new billboards and posters.
Scenes of the islands are now displayed in railway stations across Zurich, Bellinzone, Lugano and Lausanne, with more posters in the buses and trams in Geneva. The campaign aims to reach around 4 336 000 people a week, according to the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB).
STB Director for Switzerland, Judeline Edmond, said analysis of trends in the Swiss market showed that the desire to travel had not been affected by the pandemic.
“The holiday seasons are over in Switzerland and everyone is back to their normal activities, so this is the ideal time to reach out to the potential visitors and get them to dream by showing them what they are missing while they are trying keep warm in the cold,” said Edmond.
Switzerland has been one of Seychelles’ top four markets since the reopening of the country’s airport in August, according to STB.
STB is also running a year-long campaign on the trams in Zurich, which started in September.
