Last week Tourism Update asked: “How much of your business is dependent on African arrivals for its survival?”
The majority of voters said that less than 10% of their business relied on African arrivals, meaning that the reopening of regional travel may not be enough to support these businesses.
Interestingly, the second most voted for option was ‘more than 50%’ – a stark contradiction to the majority.

Namibia recently abolished its seven-day quarantine policy which had been identified as a barrier to tourists. However, for other countries, the quarantine period aims to reassure tourists that all health and safety measures are in place.
