Last week, Tourism Update asked readers if the unrest in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal influenced any South African bookings.
From 183 responses, an overwhelming 78% responded ‘yes’. 42% reported having lost more than 40% of their forward bookings, 15% lost between 10 and 40% of their forward bookings, and 21% lost lest than 10%.
Only 22% of respondents said their South African bookings were entirely unaffected by the unrest.
Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement that the vaccination roll out will be accelerated over the coming weeks, we would like to know:
