Last week, Tourism Update asked readers if South Africa’s National State of Disaster should be cancelled. From 207 votes, four in five people (81%) voted ‘yes’. Just 12% voted ‘no’, while a mere 8% said ‘maybe’.
While a jubilant tourism industry welcomed the removal of many southern and East African countries from the UK’s red list as a game-changer for tourism recovery, there still seems to be some concern and hesitancy due to uncertainty about further restrictions and regulations.
