Legacy Hotels & Resorts has announced that Neil Yates has been promoted to the position of MD.

Yates is a chartered accountant who began his career in 1984, joining the Stocks Group, which later became Legacy Hotels & Resorts. During his time with the company, he has held various related positions in construction, property development and property management and, most recently, Group Financial Director.

“I believe that with Neil at the helm of the business, we can draw on his experience and expertise, while at the same time keeping consistency in the way we run our business, while our industry and the world is anything but that at the moment,” said Bart Dorrestein, Legacy Group CEO.

New appointment at Liz McGrath

The Liz McGrath Collection has welcomed industry stalwart, Nicole Tunmer, as Group Sales Manager.

Tunmer joins existing Group Sales Manager, Martina Barth, further expanding the hotel group’s sales team.

“I have worked across all the various departments in hospitality, specifically at hotels, which gives me a great understanding of the various aspects involved in each sector. I believe this is one of my strengths in the industry,” said Tunmer.

She added that she and Barth shared the same goal and that she wanted to establish the hotel group’s footprint in new and different markets.

Originally from Pretoria, Tunmer studied sales and marketing at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and Pretoria University of Technology. She launched her career with Protea Hotels and has remained in the hospitality industry since. For the past eight years she has headed Sales and Marketing at Featherbed Co in Knysna.

“I was born to be in hospitality. It fits with my personality and I love working with people. Customer satisfaction is key and it gives me great pleasure to see happy guests. This has been my life’s journey and I won’t do it any other way – I have absolutely no regrets!” she says.
