Layovers can be very annoying but in some cases they are an unavoidable inconvenience.
When booking a flight, layover time is something most passengers try to minimise as much as possible. But imagine booking a flight only to find that your layover is scheduled to take 413 786 hours (47 years)!
This almost happened to James Lloyd when he tried to book a flight through Skyscanner from Christchurch, New Zealand to London.
The website’s search results showed that he would be spending nearly five decades in Bangkok before he headed to London.
Lloyd contacted Skyscanner on Facebook to see if they had any suggestions on what he should do in Thailand for the next 47 years. The customer-service representative, Jen, suggested that he spend his time outside the airport terminal becoming a Tai Chi expert or booking a cruise on the Chao Phraya River.
