Minor Hotels had unveiled a transformation for Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort. It includes a new look for the 30 beach villas; the Club Naval Restaurant overlooking the beach, with Anantara dining concept: Sea, Fire, Salt; and the resort’s main restaurant, Golfinho. Seven of the beach villas have been transformed into beach pool villas, with a private plunge pool overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Key features of the villas include timber flooring, refreshed interior architectural finishes and new contemporary furniture. Traditional Mozambique Capulana fabrics have been used to decorate cushions as well as photo artwork featuring Mozambican marine life. The beach pool villas open on to a shoreline veranda, and sun loungers and a spacious outdoor living area provide for gourmet dining in comfort.
Golfinho restaurant has been refurbished. The new concept design is inspired by the Indian Ocean and boasts new finishes including terrazzo floor tiles, concrete countertops, antique mirrors and bronze detailing.

From early 2020, Anantara Bazaruto will relaunch an air transfer option from Vilankulos Airport to the resort in collaboration with Safair Air. The transfer will be a 15-minute scenic flight by Cesna aircraft.
