The Mantis Collection has launched an environment empowerment project, ‘Greening the Community’.
The project aims to “create a green landscape” in the township of KwaNobhule in the Eastern Cape, tackling carbon emissions and creating a sustainable future, while also uplifting the community and working to alleviate poverty.
As part of the pilot project, aimed at helping the 121 800 community members of KwaNobuhle, the Community Conservation Fund Africa (CCFA) is launching its ‘Planting a Better Future’ campaign in the township.
The Adopt-A-Tree campaign is the first in a series of initiatives, inspired by the Indalo Nursery operating from the local Mantis Collection property at the Hopewell Conservation Estate. The goal is to raise funds to plant 600 trees at schools, churches and spaces within the neighbouring township over the next 12 months.
