In response to the article about the Tourism Business Council of South Africa presenting its plan for an earlier phased reopening of international tourism to as soon as September, Tourism Update reader, Johan Barnard, had this to say:
“I think September will be great as we do have lead times and we need to get the message out there with a start date in mind for not only direct bookings, but more importantly, tour operators abroad as well as airlines to plan their routes and start opening up their bookings.
We can't be in a position where we give international travel one month’s notice that we are open for business (needs to be at least three months) and we simply HAVE to open for international travel this year.”
Interaction with our readers is an exciting part of what we do at Tourism Update. Reading comments on articles, seeing likes and shares on social media and getting feedback emails are constant reminders of the passionate audience we serve.
