Last week, Tourism Update checked in with readers to ascertain the industry’s opinions on the role that Comair plays in growing tourism in Southern Africa.
From 139 votes, three-quarters (75%) said ‘yes’, the airline’s route offering is essential to the region’s tourism growth.
Only 14% voted ‘no’, while just 12% responded ‘maybe’.
Halfway through the poll’s runtime, news broke that Comair’s business rescue practitioners had applied to convert the airline’s business rescue proceedings into liquidation proceedings. After this announcement, votes for ‘yes, the route offering is essential to tourism growth’ in the poll rose by 5% (up from 70%).
Recovery on track?
