Cluster GM for two Marriott divisions
Tania Malan has been appointed Cluster General Manger at Protea Hotel by Marriott Fire & Ice! Melrose Arch and African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel, Autograph Collection.
Malan began her career in the industry as a Marketing Manager at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Wanderers. She then moved on to become Room Davison Manager and later was appointed General Manager of the Protea Hotel Samrand in 2005.
She took on her first Cluster role managing both the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel and Mount Grace Country House and Spa, both Autograph Collection properties, in 2018.
Two new General Managers at Tourvest Destination Managment
Nompendulo Notanaza has been appointed as Tourvest Destination Management's new General Manager for Contracting and Michelle Forrester is the new General Manager for Contracting Support Hub.
Notanaza has 11 years experience in the industry with a strong background in Reservations. Forrester came to Tourvest Destination Management as a Contracting Manager and comes with 13 years experience in the industry.
New Director of Rooms at Taj CT
Taj Cape Town has appointed Melissa Herman as Director of Rooms.
Her key responsibility is to oversee all Front Desk and Housekeeping Operations within Taj Cape Town and ensure that standards and quality are maintained at every touch point.
She was previously a Front Office manager and a Room Division Manager for the Radisson Blu Le Vendome Hotel.
Dragonfly Africa’s new Group Sales Manager
Sara Shaw has been appointed new Group Sales Manager at Dragonfly Africa, with a focus on the American and Canadian MICE market.
Shaw has spent more than five years at Cybele Forest Lodge and Health Spa in various positions and where she was appointed General Manager. She joined Dragonfly Africa in 2014 as Account Executive, operating large incentive programmes.
CSIR’s new appointments
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) International Convention Centre has appointed several staff members in new positions. Abie Maheso is the new Senior Banqueting Manager.
Gugu Pam Motsumi is a new Marketing Co-ordinator. Motsumi has held various marketing roles in different industries, the most recent as a Copywriter and a Communications Co-ordinator.
CSIR ICC recently appointed Maki Kupa as a Buyer. Kupa is well qualified and brings with her much experience in the conference and events industry.
