Hornbill Lodge in Kariba, Zimbabwe will this month introduce bicycle hire, so that guests can tour around Kariba town. Guests can explore with the newly released Kariba town map and visit the dam wall, observation points as well as local markets in the township.
Hornbill Lodge, MD Sunera Millar says bicycles have been purchased and will be launched soon. “We have the bicycles and they will be for hire by our guests only; for use around Kariba town. The guest can hire the bicycles to do self-tour. We will assist them with recommendations and Kariba maps but the guests will be free to explore the area on their own and in their own time. Cycling is eco-friendly and a healthy way to explore Kariba town and do something a little different while on holiday.”
She says the hiring fee is US$10 for half day and US$20 for full day.
Situated at the top of Mica Point, above the shores of Lake Kariba; Hornbill Lodge is a boutique lodge offering accommodation for a maximum of 12 people in five individual rooms.
Other activities in Kariba include a cruise on Lake Kariba, game drives, fishing, bird watching and walking safaris in the nearby Matusadona National Park.
