Located 30 minutes from Port Shepstone on KwaZulu Natal’s south coast, the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve offers hiking trails through dense forests and over breath-taking cliffs.

For those in the mood for an adrenaline rush, Wild 5 Adventures offers five buzz-inducing activities in the gorge. These include a 110m abseil, an 85m suspension bridge, white water rafting on the Umzimkhulu, paintball and the famous ‘Wild Swing’.

At 165m, the swing is the highest of its kind in the world and offers a unique view of the gorge as you jump from the top of Lehr’s Waterfall and swing into the depths of the gorge below.

If all this adventure works up an appetite, visitors can enjoy a meal at the Oribi Gorge Hotel’s Eagle’s Eyrie Restaurant or Wild Fig Tea Garden. The hotel offers a sports bar, pool, games room and children’s playground, not to mention spacious suites and luxury tents to suit their needs.

SA Tourism’s #Meet South Africa campaign comprises a series of videos entitled 25 Most Instagrammable Places in South Africa. Each short video (around 60 seconds) depicts and promotes an area of the country as seen by well-known Instagrammers. This makes good tourism sense now that Instagram is a vital component of tourism globally!  This video shows Instagrammers visiting Oribi Gorge.
