Head Chef

The CSIR International Convention Centre has a vacancy for a Head Chef who will manage, control all aspects of the Centre’s food production, operations and deliver meals of the right quantity, quality at the right time to the satisfaction of the Centre’s clients in support of their overall event, whilst creating a harmonious working environment for all subordinates and fellow colleagues. This position is based in Pretoria and requires shift and weekend work Key responsibilities: • Ensure food preparation and production (+/- 60 000 meals per annum) is maintained to customers’ requirements. • Provide innovative ideas of food dishes for customers and ensure food service is maintained to customer requirements. • Ensure that food quality & presentation enhances the reputation and brand of the CSIR ICC. • Maintain food cost at the required levels. • Maintain food hygiene standards at the required levels

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Professional Cookery • 5 years in senior position in the kitchen of the same/similar operation. • Good cooking skills • Organisational skills • People skills • Interpersonal/Communication skills • Attention to detail
