Indigo Safaris is a small but growing safari and dive travel company. I am looking for an experienced sales consultant to join the company. Indigo Safaris was born ten years ago, out of my passion for safari, scuba diving, and photography. Business has increased consistently and our small team of four needs to grow again. We are looking for someone to help us deal with enquiries and transform them into sales. The successful candidate will receive a basic monthly wage of 15,000 ZAR and a monthly commission of 25% of the gross profit their sales generate, over $2000. For example, if their gross profit for the month is $3000, they make 25% of $1000, which is around 3500 ZAR. If you are a parent with little ones to look after too, we are amenable to a part-time arrangement for the right candidate.

Required Qualifications

Candidates MUST have ALL of the following: • Five years or more experience in safari sales • Excellent knowledge of southern and eastern Africa safari destinations – you will be tested on this before you are employed, so no attempting BS please. • Good numerical skills • The ability to work alone, from home, semi-autonomously, as I and the Sales and Product Manager are based mainly in London, but we travel all over the place escorting tours, checking out new potential suppliers, promoting the business at dive travel shows in Europe and the USA. Your location in South Africa is not important, though one of Durban, Joburg or Cape Town would be best, as that is where I tend to go through the most when I am in South Africa. • Computer literacy - Word, Excel, ability to use drag and drop interfaces to build content, social media • The ability to work effectively under time pressure • Excellent organisational and planning abilities • Good telephone skills • Rigorous attention to detail in quotes and in document creation • Good customer service skills • Excellent writing skills • Prior experience of building Wetu itineraries • A proactive approach to finding new leads Bonus helpful attributes would be: • Some experience in SCUBA diving • Knowledge of southern and eastern African diving
