Following the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in December 2019 and its rapid spread globally in 2020, the impact on all business sectors globally has been and continues to be unparalleled. The tourism industry in Kenya has suffered unprecedented drops in overseas visitor arrival numbers which has had a significant impact. We support the actions of our Government so far which are aimed at safe-guarding the health and the lives of all of us living in Kenya.
Sarova Hotels & Resorts continues to prioritise the livelihoods and well-being of our associates and by extension that of their dependents. To this end, we have taken the necessary decision to temporarily suspend the operations of 4 of our Hotels/Lodges with immediate effect. These are:
- Sarova Woodlands Hotel & Spa, Nakuru
- Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, Lake Nakuru National Park
- Sarova Mara Game Camp, Masai Mara Game Reserve
- Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge, Taita Wildlife Sanctuary
We are not in a position at this point to advise on when the operations at these 4 Sarova establishments will re-commence. We are however continuing to monitor the developments in Kenya based on the regular information and direction being provided to the nation by our Government.
We are happy to confirm that 5 of our Hotels/Lodges still remain in operation. These are:
- Sarova Stanley, Nairobi
- Sarova Panafric, Nairobi
- Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa, Mombasa
- Sarova Shaba Game Lodge, Shaba National Reserve
- Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge, Taita Wildlife Sanctuary
