Hartbeespoort is a popular resort town just north of Johannesburg – ideal for a quick weekend getaway.

Harties, as it is fondly called, is known for the Hartbeespoort Dam and the white-water rapids of the Crocodile River. The Hartbeespoort Aerial Cableway ascends to the top of the Magaliesberg mountains.

The town boasts many attractions such as the Elephant Sanctuary, Bush Babies Monkey Sanctuary and the Welwitschia Country Market. From quad biking, horse riding and hot-air balloon rides to fishing and paragliding, there’s an endless list of things to do in Harties.
