Local Kenyan airline, Silverstone Air, has suspended all scheduled services, effective November 12.

This follows the Kenyan Civil Aviation Authority’s (KCAA’s) decision to provisionally suspend the airline’s Dash 8 fleet, following a series of compliance audits. KCAA noted that all other aircraft in the airline’s fleet remain operational.

The airline said in a statement to the trade that it would “continue to work with customers to reduce any disruption to their travel”.

Last month, the airline experienced several problems, including an accident on the runway at Wilson Airport, Nairobi; the loss of a wheel as the aircraft took off from Lodwar Airport in Lodwar; and a ramp incident, also at Wilson Airport.

The airline’s website is down and calls are unanswered.
