Delta Air Lines is introducing its new-look Boeing 777-200ER on the Atlanta-Johannesburg route. The aircraft, which was temporarily introduced during October, will be permanent from early December.
This means a new premium economy product and the new Delta One Suite in business class will be available on the route. A reinvented on-board experience has also been introduced in economy class from November 5, with basic economy fares coming in the near future.
“Delta Premium Select offers passengers Sky Priority check-in; dedicated security lanes; expedited baggage handling; allocated overhead storage; high resolution 34cm seat-back screens; 48cm-wide seats with 17cm recline; adjustable leg and footrests and TUMI amenity kits,” says Delta’s Director of Sales for Africa, Middle East and India, Jimmy Eichelgruen.
Delta’s business class will now also feature the new Delta One Suite – a private suite with direct aisle access, a lie-flat seat, a power outlet and USB port, a 45cm high-resolution screen, and spacious compartments for shoes, headphones and personal devices.
The new economy-class service will provide passengers with welcome Bellini cocktails after take-off; a hot towel service; a thank-you chocolate before landing; mix and match mains and appetisers with larger portion sizes and a separate dessert service, says Jimmy. Prosecco, wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks and Starbucks coffee will also be served on a complimentary basis.
