The Safari Collection will host a Wilderness Wellness Safari from May 14 to 21.

Guests arriving at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for the seven-night safari will be transferred to The Emakoko Lodge in Nairobi National Park.

Overnighting at the ten-room boutique lodge gives visitors time to enjoy game drives through the park where they can see the Big Five, along with some of the 400 bird species that inhabit the area. Walking and running routes offer an alternative way to experience some of the sights within the conservancy.

Guests then travel to Sasaab, departing Wilson Airport on a scheduled Safarilink flight. Sasaab is situated on a cliff high above the Ewaso Nyiro River, with view across the Laikipia Plateau toward Mount Kenya. An afternoon game drive into Samburu National Reserve could afford sightings of the rare northern species, including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk and Beisa oryx. There are also opportunities to experience and learn about the traditions and cultures of the local Samburu tribe.

The next three-day wellness retreat begins on the second morning at Sasaab, led by professional Pilates coach and personal trainer Karina Walsh, alongside nutritional therapist and therapeutic chef, Heather Cuthbert. Activities will include Pilates by the river, guided nature walks and/or runs with Samburu warriors, strengthening and stretching sessions in the pool, and sunset yoga sessions with breath-taking views.

The final two days take visitors to Solio Lodge, which has glass-fronted rooms with views of Mount Kenya. Spa treatments and massages are available in-room, while morning and night game drives provide opportunities to see lion, leopard, cheetah, elephants and buffalo.
