The De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Western Cape invites guests to join yoga specialist Kate Ball at Melkkamer for the popular Kate Ball Yoga Retreat from May 16-19.
Ball is trained in Vinyasa and Forrest yoga, and has been teaching since 2007. She has taught in the US, India and at Cape Town’s SpiritFest for a number of years. She also directs YogaSpirit in Constantia Village, Cape Town.
Her main style is Vinyasa but she also teaches Bikram. Music features strongly in the classes, as does strength, precision and breath awareness. Her love of yoga stems from the transforming power it has had in her own life, hence she feels fortunate to share what she has learnt with guests.
“All levels of practioners are welcome,” says Ball. “So please join me in this peaceful, pristine and scenic setting to deepen your yoga practice. Yoga-nature therapy does powerful work to restore balance and you will work hard but know that it will leave you feeling peaceful, energised, inspired and beautiful.”
The upmarket accommodation at Melkkamer with its old-world architecture and charm provides the ideal getaway for those seeking to restore and replenish. With the emphasis being on health and wellness, the menu comprises nourishing, organic and locally sourced produce.
The reserve is a three-hour drive from Cape Town along the renowned Garden and Whale routes, and is an ideal stop-over en route from the Cape Winelands to Plettenberg Bay.
