Newmark Hotels, Residences, Reserves and Lodges recently announced the opening date for Serengeti Explorer Camp in Ndutu, Tanzania, which it acquired earlier this year, taking over full ownership and management in April.
The tented camp, which moves twice a year between the northern and southern regions of the Serengeti National Park, offering optimal viewing of the migration, is set to open on December 22, following a refurbishment.
The Ndutu region is located on the border of the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, featuring grasslands and views over Lake Ndutu.
Guests of Serengeti Explorer Camp are welcomed with a cooled towel and complimentary refreshment on arrival. A personal valet also tends to guests and their tents.
The ten Deluxe Tents are spacious with a sizeable living area, ideally suited to couples or families with one child.
The two Family Tents are larger in size than the Deluxe Tents and are suitable for families of four.
Each tent features a protected verandah with views of the bush.
A separate, communal lounge tent includes comfortable sofas from reclaimed wood, a fully-stocked bar, a library and board games.
Youngsters, aged six to 15 can look forward to the Rafiki Explorer Club which includes a variety of fun activities, such as footprint tracking, animal call identification, cooking and traditional African board games.
