The Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) and the National Accommodation Association SA (NAA-SA) have entered into a partnership to actively promote collaboration within the business tourism and events industry in Southern Africa.

“Partnerships like these are not only beneficial to our SAACI members but, by providing access to our members as suppliers or even clients through our partner associations, we create a safer business environment with ethical standards/codes of conduct having to be adhered to. We are also creating a more inclusive business environment and paving the way for easier business relationships to be established between our respective members,” adds SAACI CEO, Rudi van der Vyver.

SAACI and NAA-SA will now mutually benefit through various initiatives such as sharing of relevant research data and information, and the creation of jointly sponsored activities and events in targeted regions. The partnership hopes to encourage interaction between members of both organisations, particularly the participation of the leaders of both associations. It also hopes to establish a closer working relationship between guest houses and the business events sector.

Training and education of the industry are focus areas for SAACI and it has opened up the SAACI Online Academy for NAA-SA members to benefit from this platform to further advance professionalisation and skills within the industry.
