Here are two funny travel stories to brighten your day.
- British traveller Jordan Adams, in Munich for his brother-in-law’s bachelor weekend, got lost after leaving a club. Cold, tired and drunk, Jordan decided the best place to warm up while waiting for a taxi was the luggage hold of a bus. Skip to four hours later when he woke up in Switzerland, without any money, his phone or passport. He had to phone his wife so she could get hold of her brother… Jordan explained his problem to the Swiss police and got a train back to Munich. Safe to say his wife was not happy.
- Have the wrong name on your ticket? Time to cough up to have it fixed… Unless you are Adam West, or rather Armstrong. Adam and his girlfriend, India, were going to Ibiza on a trip with India’s family. Unfortunately India’s stepfather used the wrong name to book the ticket. He used Adam’s Facebook name, Adam West – after the Batman actor – and not Adam Armstrong. When Adam enquired about changing his name on his Ryanair ticket, he was told it would cost £220 (R3 310) to fix. His solution – change his name. Adam went on to the FCO’s website and created his own deed poll to change his name. Then he paid £103 (R1 550) to get a new passport. Problem solved. A bit extreme but if it works it works.
