IHG opens first Crowne Plaza in Kenya

Intercontinental Hotels Group has announced the opening of the Crowne Plaza Nairobi in Kenya. The new hotel is the first Crowne Plaza for Eastern and Central Africa and forms part of the hotel group’s plans for the continent.

 
The hotel is strategically located within Nairobi’s commercial hub of Upperhill near the convention centre and is only a 30-minute drive from the international airport and 10 minutes from the city centre.
 
The five-storey hotel has 162 rooms – 120 standard rooms, five executive suites, eight junior suites and 29 executive club floor rooms.
 
The hotel is also equipped with a business centre, six boardrooms with state-of-the-art technology, and a ballroom. Guests can also make use of the fitness centre and swimming pool and choose from a variety of restaurants and bars.
 
Services include banking and currency exchange, same-day laundry service and a travel desk. A gift shop and beauty salon are also located on site.
