South African Tourism today announced that Didi Moyle, Chief Operating Officer and former Acting CEO of SA Tourism, will not renew her contract when it expires at the end of May 2010.

Moyle has been at the organisation for nine years, the last three of which has been as Chief Operating Officer. SA Tourism Chairperson Jabu Mabuza and CEO Thandiwe January-McLean both said it was with regret that the organisation had accepted her decision and wished her well in her next career move.

“On behalf of the staff, leadership team and board of SA Tourism, we would like to thank Didi for her invaluable contribution in creating operational excellence and leading the organisation for a major part of 2009.

“Didi’s knowledge, leadership skills and all-hands-on-deck approach will be missed,” both concluded.

This is very sad - Didi did a good job whilst in a Government Department mired in BEE-ineffectiveness and incompetence.
