Expedia is an ideal portal for those accommodation establishments that have not managed to secure bookings over the period of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. So says Ross Kata, Market Manager – Africa.

Kata notes that with 75 million unique visitors and 66 000 affiliated sites, Expedia is ideally positioned for FIT travellers over the period of the tournament. He furthers that those establishments that are interested can easily join Expedia by visiting www.joinexpedia.com.

The process, which he says is easy, could mean that establishments go live within 10 days and start receiving bookings almost immediately.

We can vote for Expedia-Venere to help those for bookings for 2010. The rooms that we did not contracted with MATCH, 75% of those bookings has been booked via Expedia - Venere and we have received our Deposits already for all bookings booked via Expedia - Venere. For Those Accommodation providers that do not have bookings yet it is the best to be listed with Expedia. Regards Hout Bay

Our establishment has now been listed for a number of weeks and not as much as one inquiry yet. The process to get listed involved a lot of paperwork and empty promises ... But again, we are not in Cape Town – but on the Garden Route. Are any Garden Route establishments who can proof me wrong?

Have heard Dept of Tourism through SAT (and FIFA) are close to a solution (including smaller properties) which is about to be launched which intergrates low cost carrier fares with car hire and accommodation.
