Ross Kennedy (pictured here), Chief Executive of Zimbabwe-based tourism group, Africa Albida Tourism, has been appointed to the Board of Advancing Tourism to Africa (ATTA) for 2010.

 
Christopher Trimble has been appointed General Manager of the Fairway Hotel at the Randpark Golf course, scheduled to open in May. Trimble, most recently at the five-star Asmara Intercontinental Hotel in Eritrea, has more than 30 years’ hospitality experience, starting as an assistant front office manager at the Edward Hotel, eventually becoming general manager of a number of leading hotels around the country. Other key personnel appointed for The Fairway are Salome Knoetze, Rooms Division Manager and Warren Forster, Head Chef.  Knoetze was previously involved with the opening of the four-star Holiday Inn Hotel in Sandton and Forster assisted with the opening of the first five-star hotel in Limpopo, the Fusion Boutique Hotel.
 
Mpho Mokgoatlheng has been appointed sales executive at the Coca-Cola Dome. She will be responsible for sales of the Dome’s main arena area, breakaway facilities and tenant offices as well as for sales of marketing opportunities. Before joining the Dome Mokgoatlheng was a development executive and key accounts executive at Avis Fleet Services.
 
The Sandton Sun Hotel has announced the appointment of Julian Cohen as Food and Beverage Manager. Julian has a strong background in the hospitality industry, with his previous role as Operations Manager at Thai Africa Restaurants.
 
Jacques de Jager has been appointed executive chef at the Salt Restaurant and Bar at the re-styled Ambassador Hotel in Bantry Bay. He was previously at the Restaurant at Grande Provence in Franschhoek.
