The South African Department of Tourism (DOT) launched its South African tourism investment portfolio at the Hospitality Investment Conference Africa hosted by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa in Johannesburg yesterday.
Sindiswa Nlhumayo, Deputy Director General of DOT, said at the launch that the portfolio of investments had been introduced to enhance South Africa’s competitiveness and presented potential investors with opportunities that had been fully researched.
“This portfolio presents something that the market requires,” she said.
The portfolio highlights key opportunities across the country’s nine provinces and leverages largely on South Africa’s natural beauty, for example the Namaqualand daisies in the Northern Cape.
Those investors interested in viewing this portfolio are urged to contact either the Department or provincial tourism authorities.
