Malawi Airlines takes off

Malawi Airlines has started operating flights from Lilongwe and Blantyre to Lusaka, Harare, Beira, Tete and Maputo, with flights to Johannesburg scheduled to start from February 17.

According to the airline, it plans to increase its schedule shortly and has long-term plans to introduce flights to Durban.

Last year, Air Malawi was placed under liquidation. The airline has been rebranded following a partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, which owns 49% of the new airline.
